The Sparrows Point High School Alumni Association awards scholarships to deserving graduates each year. Some of the award money comes from the Association’s Scholarship fund, but the majority of the scholarships are funded by donations or gifts bequeathed to Sparrows Point High School Association specifically for scholarships.
Here are some examples:
The Sparrows Point Alumni Association has received a bequest from Martha L. Clarke totaling in excess of $150,000.00.
The gift is the largest contribution ever received in the Alumni’s history. The bequest will be placed in our scholarship fund, and will fund both academic and technical scholarships.
Martha Thomas Clarke (Class of '51), along with her husband, Finley (Class of '45), owned and operated the Katahdin Hunting Lodge in Moro Plantation, Maine.
Class of '58 - Two $700 Scholarships.
$1,000.00 was received from the estate of Richard Reed.
$1,000.00 and $1200.00 for David & Eda Womer Memorial Scholarships
Class of '54 - $500.00 Scholarship
Please consider making a tax deductible donation that will help enable the SPHSAA to continue awarding scholarships to deserving SPHS graduates.
